James Roday

James Roday is perhaps best known for his 8 year starring role as Shawn Spencer on the USA Network original series "Psych”. Roday is a native Texan, born and raised in San Antonio. He began his career studying theatre at New York University's Experimental Theatre Wing and graduated with a degree in acting. Roday went on to star in several feature film roles including Wim Wenders’ "Don't Come Knocking," "Rolling Kansas" directed by Thomas Haden Church and the WB film adaptation of "The Dukes of Hazzard" as Billy Prickett. James will next be seen opposite Josh Duhamel and Olivia Munn in the indie comedy “The Buddy Games,” Ryhys Wakefield’s “Untitled Hollywood Hills Project,” and the highly anticipated, fan favorite, return of the fake psychic duo “Psych: The Movie,” airing December 7th on USA.

On the production side, James co-wrote and directed the feature film "Gravy" starring Michael Weston, Jimmi Simpson, Sutton Foster, Gabourey Sidibe and Sarah Silverman. Additionally, Roday wrote and directed several "Psych" episodes. Since then, Roday has directed has directed several well-known television series including Fox's “Rosewood,” SyFy’s “Blood Drive” and most recently wrapped directing an episode of Fox’s “The Resident."

Roday co-founded and serves as artistic director of the Los Angeles based non-profit theatre company Red Dog Squadron. Roday was last on stage in NY in the Off Broadway production of Gabe McKinley's "Extinction" at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

Recent highlights are the festival award winning features "Baby, Baby, Baby” and "Pushing Dead." Perhaps most importantly, Roday lives to serve his extraordinary Dogue de Bordeaux named Franc.
