Charlie Adler voices “Ed Bighead” and “Bev Bighead,” reprising his roles as Rocko’s neighbors, in Nickelodeon’s all-new original TV special, Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, based on the classic ‘90s hit.

Adler is as an Emmy® Award-winning dialogue director, two-time Annie Award acting nominee and casting director, who has served as voice director for all Klasky Csupo franchised series and feature films, including Nickelodeon’s Emmy-winning Rugrats, The Wild Thornberry’s, Rocket Power, and Rugrats spin-off series’ Pre School Daze and All Grown Up! He has also previously lent his voice direction talents to The Nutty Professor remake, The Blue Elephant, Fire Breather, Nick Jr.’s Bubble Guppies, Stripperella, The Replacements, The Emperor’s New School, The Buzz on Maggie, Holly Hobbie and video games’ The Infinity Gauntlet and Comic Combat. He directed, co-wrote and starred in the independent live-action movie No Prom for Cindy.

As a voice actor, Adler has appeared as series regular in over 100 animated series. He’s a two-time Annie Award nominee for his roles as “Cow,” “Chicken” and the “Red Guy” in the Emmy-nominated series Cow and Chicken, with additional credits including: “Baboon” in I.M. Weasel; “Cobra Commander” in G.I. Joe Resolute and G.I. Joe Origins; “Mr. Whiskers” in Brandy & Mr. Whiskers; and various roles in Pet Aliens, Shuriken School, Space Goofs, Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, Marvel Super Hero Squad. Other notable characters include: “Buster Bunny” in Tiny Toon Adventures; “Ickis” in AAAHH!!! Real Monsters; “Ed and Bev Bighead” in Rocko’s Modern Life; a “Smurf”; an original “G.I. Joe” and “Transformer”; a “Glow Friend”; multiple roles in My Little Pony; and Cool World.

Additional casting and voice directing credits include: Emmy-nominated series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Johnny Bravo goes to Bollywood, Eloise at the Plaza, Spawn, and direct to videos Dante’s Inferno and Dead Zone. 

As a stage actor, Adler starred on Broadway in Torch Song Trilogy and toured in the First National Company, which earned him a “Helen Hayes Award Best Actor” nomination. Off-Broadway, Adler starred in Family Business and appeared in improv company, The Proposition. Adler co-starred in Once Upon a Mattress, God’s Favorite, Zoo Story, Dr. Hero, and Cabaret. On television, Adler was a regular on The Redd Foxx Show, Then and Now, First & Ten, and has guest starred Hot in Cleveland. In film, he voices “Starscream” in the Transformers franchise.

As a writer, Adler co-wrote Steven Spielberg’s Tiny Toon Adventures episodes and his one-man show, There Used to Be Fireflies, winning him a Dramalogue Awards for Best Actor and Set Design.Adler remains a key figure in the animation world, previously being named one of the “Top 13 All Time Voice-Over Artists” by Animation Magazine and “Voice of The Decade” by Animation World News. Adler resides in Los Angeles.
