SF Sketchfest presents a triple-co-headline of three of the best comics in the country.Joel Kim Booster is a Chicago bred, Brooklyn based comedian, writer and playwright. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Joel was adopted at a young age and moved to the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Both homeschooled and evangelical, Joel has read the bible literally dozens of times, but has no idea where the state of Oregon is on a map. As a comedian he has appeared on "Conan," Logo, MTV and "The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail" on Comedy Central. His writing credits include "Billy on the Street" and the Comedy Central pilot "Problematic with Moshe Kasher." Joel is a frequent collaborator on MTV’s "Decoded" webseries, "Bravo’s Guide To...", and regularly appears in a number of "Internet Action Force" shorts. He loves to chat. Joel has performed at numerous comedy clubs, bar basements and festivals all across the country. Most recently and notably he was a New Face for the world renowned Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada. Additionally he has featured at Funny or Die's Oddball Comedy Festival, Riot LA and The Bridgetown Comedy Festival. Joel has also performed at Stand Up NY and Gotham Comedy Club in New York City and the Laugh Factory and Zanies in Chicago. Joel was just listed as one of Brooklyn Magazine’s 50 funniest people and Paper Magazine recently called him one of their "10 Comedians You Need to Know," saying that if you like "cats, hot men, and insecurity, then you'll love Joel Kim Booster."
JANINE BRITO started doing standup comedy in St. Louis and has performed at clubs and theaters throughout the US and Hong Kong. She is the winner of the 2009 SF Women's Comedy Competition, and recipient of Rooftop Comedy's 2010 Silver Nail Award. Praised by 7x7 Magazine as "one of SF's more daring voices" and one of "the 7 funniest people in town," she was named the 2011 “Best Comedian with a Message” by the East Bay Express.Brito is best known for her stint as a writer and on-air correspondent on the FX series, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, produced by Chris Rock. Her appearances on the show won her praise from critics and audience members alike; The Huffington Post called her “hysterical and unique” and The Onion’s AVClub demanded, “More Janine Brito, please. Totally Biased needs so much more of her.”Along with fellow bay area comics W. Kamau Bell and Nato Green, Janine is a member of “Laughter Against the Machine,” a grassroots comedy tour and forthcoming documentary film. Her recent festival appearances include Sketchfest, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, and SxSW.W. Kamau Bell calls her “a sarcastic, snarky smart bomb of comedy funk straight from the 80's,” and the SF Weekly says she’s “a mean lesbian,” but she’s pretty sure that they mean it in a good way.@janinebritojaninebrito.com
Solomon Georgio burst out of the Seattle comedy scene with his own brand of indignant irreverence. He flawlessly intertwines biting social commentary with stories of his life as an openly gay African immigrant. He is a finalist of NBC’s "Stand Up for Diversity," a regular performer at the Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival (Seattle, WA) and the Bridgetown Comedy Festival (Portland, OR). Solomon recently had his television debut in February 2015 as the featured comedian on "Conan," and immediately followed it up with an appearance on "Last Call with Carson Daily." He also hosted several episodes of the recent Lance Bangs series for Vice, "Flophouse." $24
